Adik Masha Shivratri, which will be celebrated on the 13th of June in 2026, is a significant day for Lord Shiv devotees. Adhik Masha takes place only every 3 years, so those who fast, worship or pray during this time spiritually will be rewarded greatly. Learn about the meaning, timings, and means of making the most of this chance to receive Lord Shiv's blessings for happiness, wealth, and success.

Why Is Adhik Maas Shivratri So Special?

Every Masik Shivratri is dedicated to Lord Shiva and holds immense religious significance. However, the Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi of Jyeshtha Adhik Maas is considered exceptionally auspicious because Adhik Maas occurs only once in approximately three years.

According to Hindu beliefs, spiritual practices performed during Adhik Maas yield greater rewards than usual. Worshipping Lord Shiva during this sacred period is believed to remove difficulties, fulfill desires, and bring peace to family life.

As mentioned in traditional beliefs, devotees who sincerely observe the Masik Shivratri fast receive Lord Shiva’s blessings for accomplishing even difficult tasks. Unmarried women often observe the fast seeking a suitable life partner, while married women pray for harmony and stability in their married lives.

At Sanatangyan, we believe that such sacred rituals offer us a unique opportunity to connect with our spirituality and to establish a permanent bond with God.
