As the snow melts in the stunning Himalayas, the chants of “Har Har Mahadev” echo in the air. The Char Dham Yatra 2025 is about to start. This holy journey will welcome millions of pilgrims to the sacred land of Uttarakhand.
The yatra will begin with the reopening of Kedarnath Dham on May 2, followed by Badrinath Dham on May 4. This ancient pilgrimage is filled with faith and devotion. It holds great spiritual importance and brings people closer to God and the heart of India.
Kedarnath Temple Reopens on May 2 with Grand Floral Decorations
This year, Kedarnath Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva, is not just opening—it's looking more beautiful than ever. Before the temple opens on May 2, it has been decorated with 13 quintals of fresh flowers, making it a truly beautiful and holy place filled with devotion.
Devotees and priests alike were moved by the divine energy that radiated from the temple, glowing with marigolds, roses, and Himalayan blooms.
The holy idol of Baba Kedarnath will arrive at the temple on May 1, brought with chants and rituals from its winter home in Ukhimath. The temple doors will open at 7 AM on May 2, and thousands of devotees are expected to gather to witness this special moment of spiritual significance.

Badrinath Dham to Welcome Devotees on May 4
After Kedarnath, the doors of Badrinath Dham, the holy place of Lord Vishnu, will open on May 4. It is located in Chamoli district and is the last stop in the traditional Char Dham Yatra. Every year, millions of people visit this sacred temple. The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) is working hard to make sure all pilgrims have a safe, smooth, and peaceful visit.

Opening Dates of Other Dhams: Madmaheshwar and Tungnath
Alongside Kedarnath and Badrinath, the other revered temples in the Panch Kedar also have their opening dates announced:
Shri Madmaheshwar Temple (Second Kedar) will open on May 21
Shri Tungnath Temple (Third Kedar), one of the highest Shiva temples in the world, will reopen on May 2, the same day as Kedarnath.
These ancient shrines, surrounded by snow-covered peaks and pristine valleys, offer a peaceful and divine escape for the seeker of truth and spiritual elevation.
Char Dham Yatra 2025: The Spiritual Heartbeat of Devotee
In India, a pilgrimage is more than just traveling. It is a journey of the soul. The Char Dham Yatra 2025 is very important for the spirit. Devotees should follow a tradition. They start at Yamunotri, then visit Gangotri, followed by Kedarnath, and end at Badrinath.
This journey cleanses one’s karma, purifies the mind, and connects the soul with the divine energies of the Himalayas. The ancient sages believed that undertaking this yatra once in a lifetime opens the doors to moksha (liberation).

Uttarakhand Government Ensures Safe and Clean Yatra
The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, has emphasized that this year’s yatra will be safe, clean, and well-managed.
Special care is being taken for traffic control, health services, accommodation, and pilgrim safety. The public has also been urged to support a Green and Clean Char Dham Yatra. This follows the ancient Indian principle of Atithi Devo Bhava (the guest is God).

Spreading Spiritual Wisdom to the Modern World
At Sanatangyan, we believe that journeys like the Char Dham Yatra 2025 are more than religious traditions—they are living links to our eternal Sanatan roots. By walking the paths that rishis once walked, by chanting mantras in the lap of the Himalayas, and by bathing in the holy rivers, one reconnects with the divine wisdom of Bharat.
Let this yatra be a chance for inner transformation. Whether you go by foot, road, or helicopter—go with faith, go with love, and come back with blessings.
