Why Virat Kohli & Anushka Sharma Met Premanand Ji Maharaj After Akaay’s Birthday – Viral Pics

What’s the real reason behind Virat and Anushka’s visit to Premanand Ji Maharaj after Akaay’s birthday? Discover the devotion behind the headlines.

Just after their son Akaay's birthday Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma visited an ashram run by Premanand Ji Maharaj located in Vrindavan India. Pictures which went viral were posted on social media showed that this was more than just normal tourists visiting celebrities, it was a true spiritual experience rooted in their devotion, humility and commitment to its meaning (i.e. determined to uphold its meaning versus giving up on it).

A Sacred Visit After Akaay’s Birthday

This couple, who are loved by India were seen together at Keli Kunj Ashram which is located within Vrindavan. The visit came shortly after their son Akaay’s birthday on February 15, 2024. The timing of the darshan made many devotees feel that the couple chose to express gratitude through spiritual surrender.

Pictures of the couple attending kirtan and sitting humbly before Premanand Ji Maharaj quickly went viral. Dressed simply, without glamour or media display, they appeared like ordinary seekers in the presence of a guru.

The couple are parents to daughter Vamika, born on January 11, 2021, and son Akaay, born on February 15, 2024. They have chosen to go to Premanand Ji Maharaj’s for blessings at critical milestones in their lives. This is consistent with a traditional Indian practice of aligning significant life events with dharam (right duty) and sanatangyan (the eternal truth).

Their Ongoing Connection with Vrindavan

This was not the first time the couple visited Vrindavan. In December last year, they spent time in deep spiritual dialogue with Premanand Ji Maharaj at his ashram. A video shared on Bhajan Marg’s official platform showed the guru advising them to treat their profession as seva — service to God.

According to the teachings shared, work must not become ego-driven. It must become an offering. This idea is deeply rooted in Vedic shashtra wisdom.

One of the beautiful teachings from the Bhagvad Gita (Chapter 2, Verse 47) that illustrates this principle is:

कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।

 मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥

“You have the right to perform your duty, but not to the fruits of your actions.”

The shashtra (the scripture of the Gita) teaches about humility and detachment (a principle that is central to Premanand Ji Maharaj's teaching) is mentioned in this verse.

In the practice of sanatangyan life is defined as being a part of the yajna (a holy gift). When one is on a spiritual journey, devotion is more important than either money, recognition or success.

Spirituality in the Midst of Stardom

The spiritual journey that continues to distinguish Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma from other celebrities who live fast-paced lifestyles with lots of money and noise is how private and humble their spiritual journeys are given how they have visited ashrams and gurus without any advertisement or publicity.

According to Santan Gyan, when Kings ruled the earth, they too sought to obtain the blessings of Rishis and Sadhu. A real Sadhu only sees the Atma, not the material/financial status of another person.

The Mundaka Upanishad beautifully states:

तद्विज्ञानार्थं स गुरुमेवाभिगच्छेत्

 समित्पाणिः श्रोत्रियं ब्रह्मनिष्ठम्॥

“To understand the ultimate truth, one must approach a guru who is well-versed in the scriptures and established in Brahman.”

This verse demonstrates why so many successful people still seek guidance. No matter how much worldly success one has, it can never be compared to the wisdom from a Guru.

Fame, Wealth and Detachment

Interestingly enough, this spiritual visit coincides with a very large real estate investment made by this couple. It has been reported that they acquired over five acres of land in Alibag, Maharashtra for Rs 37.86 Crore. This represents their second acquisition of property in the area.

Although they are adding materially to their lives, their multiple trips to Vrindavan show that they are maintaining a balance of material success and spiritual foundations. The harmony of Artha (wealth) and Dora (righteousness) as found in SantanGyan, describes the Ideal.

Another timeless shloka from the Bhagavad Gita reminds us:

न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते (Bhagavad Gita 4.38)

“There is nothing more purifying in this world than knowledge.”

"According to the Shastra" the true definition of wealth can be found in knowledge and devotion. Global superstars such as Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have shown that developing one's inner self is more important than having external recognition.

Why These Viral Pictures Matter

At first glance, viral pictures may appear to be simply another form of celebrity updates. However, they have a deeper meaning on a spiritual level; they represent the feeling of appreciation following the birthday celebration for a child, seeking blessings to create harmony in their family, and reaffirming faith in God in the midst of all the fame they have achieved.

In a world that continually moves faster each day than the last, Sanatangyan teaches the greatest strength is internal calmness. While cricket stadiums may stand clapping loudly and movie sets may shine with great light, often the greatest peace will be found within the silence of an ashram.

Their gesture resonates with a teaching from the Bhagavad Gita (9.22):

“अनन्याश्चिन्तयन्तो मां ये जनाः पर्युपासते।

तेषां नित्याभियुक्तानां योगक्षेमं वहाम्यहम्॥”

“To those who constantly worship Me with devotion, I provide what they lack and preserve what they have.”

Is this not possibly the essence of their journey — arriving at the feet of a Guru to place the outcome of their accomplishments or their worries for their children, Vamika and Akaay, in the hands of the Divine.

Therefore, these viral photos are not simply of celebrities visiting an ashram; they express gratitude, humility, and living sanatangyan in their daily lives. After celebrating Akaay's birthday, Virat and Anushka chose devotion over display in seeking blessings from their guru, just like true seekers. In a world of fame and success, their true surrender in Vrindavan serves as a soft reminder that true strength comes from faith, dharmic pursuits, and inner peace.
