A Spiritual Visit That Touched Millions

The meeting came days after Kohli and his wife returned to India after spending most of their time with their kids, Vamika and Akaay, in the United Kingdom.

A video of the same visit shared by Bhajan Marg's official Instagram handle shows the couple in an Ekantik Vartalaap-intimate spiritual conversation-with the reverent sadhu. The clip went viral instantly, as people finally relate to something much more meaningful than materialistic success stories.

“Work as Worship”: Premanand Maharaj’s Message

During the meeting, Premanand Ji Maharaj gave profound yet simple guidance based on sanatangyan. He told Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma to take their professional duties as a pious service to god.

“अपने कार्यक्षेत्र को भगवान की सेवा समझिए।

गंभीर भाव से रहिए, विनम्र रहिए और खूब नाम जप कीजिए।”

“Treat your field of work as service to God. Remain serious, stay humble, and chant the Divine Name with devotion.”

That teaching goes very close to the wisdom of Vedic shashtra, particularly Bhagavad Gita, emphasizing selfless action.

“कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।” -(Bhagavad Gita 2.47)

“You have the right to perform your duty, but not to the fruits of action.”

The essence of sanatangyan is doing your duty with complete devotion, while leaving the consequences and outcomes to God.

This aram ashram stay was the first of many ashram they expect to stay at in their lives, and it was a testament to the couple’s faith in the spiritual, the faith in the spirit’s ability to provide grounding over the stormy seas of life make the major life transitions in life.

Spirituality Amidst Professional Commitments

While Virat Kohli has retired from Test cricket, he is still an active player in ODIs and the IPL. He is likely to feature for Delhi in select matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which starts on December 24. He will then return to the national team in the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, commencing on January 11, 2026.

Their association with Premanand Ji Maharaj as well as their global popularity, fame and demands, strung along to finish the loose ends of life as they leave to find inner peace and balance.

During the visit to the ashram, the cricketer Kohli and Sharma were spotted wearing Tulsi malas, chanting in silence, and meditating, as was directed by Premanand Ji Maharaj for peace.

The Upanishads echo this idea:

विद्या विनयेन शोभते।

Knowledge shines through humility.

This was quite visibly reflected in their disposition during the interaction with the sadhu.

Why the Message Went Viral

The viral potential does not lie in mere celebrity presence; it lies in the genuineness of the exchange. A world-famous cricketer and a successful actor sitting humbly in front of a guru, listening to teachings drawn from shashtra, symbolizes India's timeless spiritual culture.

As stated in the Rig Veda:

आ नो भद्राः क्रतवो यन्तु विश्वतः।

Let noble thoughts come to us from all directions.

This visit served as a conduit for such noble thoughts to reach millions.

Simply put, the stay of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma at Premanand Maharaj Ji is a testimony to their inner peace and balance. Their professional lives are a testimony to their spirit, devotion, and humility, while the outer professional balance is a testament to the inner peace and balance.
