Want Lord Krishna’s blessings in 2025? Discover why Putrada Ekadashi is special and which 5 remedies can change your destiny.

As we approach the end of another year in 2025, we look forward to observing the last Ekadashi of the year—Putrada Ekadashi—which falls on Saturday, December 30th. In Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism), Putrada Ekadashi is a special time for honouring Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna, and is considered very auspicious by followers of Sanatana Dharma. It is believed that if one fasts and follows five specific remedial actions found in the scriptures that are linked to Putrada Ekadashi, the devotee is blessed with wealth, obstacles will leave them, and the devotee will receive God's blessing in family life, career, and spiritual growth.

Spiritual Significance of Putrada Ekadashi 2025

In Every Tithi (lunar day of the month), there is a specific amount of Divine Energy associated to it. Ekadashi is the 11th Tithi of the lunar calendar, and this day is highly regarded for the energy it brings to believers and as a day that Lord Vishnu holds as the most precious. The rituals and services performed on this day such as pujas, fasts, bhajans, kirtans, and daan, are used to purify the mind, body, and spirit.

Putrada Ekadashi occurs during the waxing phase of the moon in the month of Paush (December/January). Traditionally, it is viewed as a time when blessings related to children, family harmony, and continuing the family line are bestowed upon devotees. Sadhus and spiritual leaders say that Putrada Ekadashi provides an opportunity for the devotee to enhance their faith, discipline and devotion.

According to the Padma Purana, if one observes the fast on this day with a sincere heart and mind, they are assured a higher spiritual elevation, and God's protection.

“एकादशी व्रतं पुण्यं सर्वपापप्रणाशनम्।”

“The Ekadashi fast is sacred and destroys all sins.”

Why Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu Are Worshipped on Ekadashi

Ekadashi is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, and Lord Krishna, his avatar, is equally revered on this day. Shashtra state that worship performed on Ekadashi reaches the Lord swiftly. Goddess Lakshmi is also believed to bless devotees with prosperity and stability.

Devotion is described in the Bhagavad Gita as the best method to obtain grace from the divine.

“अनन्याश्चिन्तयन्तो मां ये जनाः पर्युपासते।”

“Those who worship Me with exclusive devotion, I take care of their needs.” (Gita 9.22)

The message of Bhakti, also known as devotion, is the essence of Sanatana Dharma and teaches that while rituals play an important role, true Bhakti devotion must come from the heart of the devotee.

5 Sacred Remedies to Please Lord Vishnu on Putrada Ekadashi

1. Panchamrit Abhishek of Lord Vishnu

According to shashtra, performing abhishek of Lord Vishnu with Panchamrit (milk, curd, honey, ghee, and sugar) on Putrada Ekadashi removes obstacles related to career growth, promotions, and business expansion. It also brings inner peace and clarity.

2. Betel Leaf Remedy for Financial Stability

To practice this, a person should write “Om Vishnave Namah” on a betel leaf and place it at the feet of Lord Vishnu after completing the puja (worship) ceremony, and then store that betel leaf in a safe place or in a sacred space to attract financial stability and prosperity.

3. Banana Offering and Cow Seva

Offer bananas to Lord Vishnu and later feed a cow with roti, ghee, and jaggery. Scriptures describe cow seva as highly meritorious. This remedy is believed to increase happiness, health, and success in the lives of children.

4. Tulsi Worship for Growth and Abundance

Chant the word “Shri” eleven times on three Tulsi leaves and offer them to Lord Vishnu. In the evening, light a lamp near the Tulsi plant and worship it. Every guru in the Vaishnav tradition teaches that Tulsi is dear to Lord Krishna and grants abundance.

 “तुलसी विष्णुप्रिया सदा।”

“Tulsi is eternally beloved to Lord Vishnu.”

5. Peepal Tree Lamp on Ekadashi

Light an oil lamp under a Peepal tree and chant:
