In a horrifying incident that shook the nation, the peaceful meadows of Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir turned into a scene of terror on April 22, 2025. Terrorists linked with TRF (The Resistance Front), a group associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, carried out a brutal Pahalgam terror attack, targeting innocent tourists after reportedly asking for their names.

This heart-wrenching event, which claimed the lives of 26 people and left many seriously injured, was not only a blow to national security but also a direct attack on humanity.

Terrorists Open Fire After Asking Names

According to eyewitnesses, a group of tourists was enjoying their visit to the scenic Baisaran Valley, famously known as the "Mini Switzerland of Kashmir", when armed men appeared—some reportedly dressed in police uniforms. The tourists were enjoying simple pleasures—riding horses and eating Maggi—when the attackers approached them.

The terrorists asked for the names of the tourists. As soon as they heard Hindu names, they opened indiscriminate fire, showing no mercy. Survivors claim that the attackers had no intention of robbing or kidnapping, their only purpose was to kill based on identity.

The brutal reality of this Pahalgam terror attack is that innocent lives were taken in the name of hatred. One of the injured victims, a woman from Odisha, cried, “We were just tourists. Why did they ask our names before shooting? What did we do wrong?

Prime Minister Modi Returns, Reviews Situation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was returning from an official trip to Saudi Arabia, was immediately briefed about the attack upon arrival in Delhi. At the airport itself, he held an emergency meeting with NSA Ajit Doval and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar.

Sources say that PM Modi was deeply moved and condemned the attack as an “act of pure evil.” He assured that the nation stands with the families of the victims and that no stone will be left unturned to bring the attackers to justice.

Nation United in Grief and Rage

Leaders from all parties have condemned the attack. Rahul Gandhi, J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and BJP's Ravinder Raina have spoken out strongly, calling for immediate justice and stricter security.

This attack, one of the deadliest on civilians since the abrogation of Article 370, raises serious concerns about targeted violence and the safety of tourists in the valley.

The Pahalgam terror attack was not just an act of terrorism—it was a blow to the very soul of India. Yet, in the face of this tragedy, the spirit of the nation stands unbroken.

We owe it to the victims and their families to never forget and to make sure their sacrifice becomes the reason we fight harder for a peaceful, inclusive, and united India.
