The Ambani Family's Spiritual Pilgrimage

On February 11, 2025, Mukesh Ambani and his family, spanning four generations, joined millions of pilgrims for a sacred ritual. They gathered where the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers meet. Their presence showed how important it is to pass down religious traditions through generations.


Those present included:


  • Kokilaben Ambani: Mukesh Ambani's mother.

  • Akash and Anant Ambani: Mukesh Ambani's sons.

  • Shloka Mehta and Radhika Merchant: Mukesh’s daughters-in-law.

  • Prithvi and Veda: Mukesh Ambani's grandchildren.

  • Dipti Salgaocar and Nina Kothari: Mukesh Ambani's sisters.

  • Poonamben Dalal and Mamthaben Dalal: Ambani’s mother-in-law and sister-in-law.


The family's visit included a Ganga Puja led by Swami Kailashanand Giri ji Maharaj of the Niranjani Akhara, followed by a meeting with Swami Chiddanand Saraswati Maharaj of Parmarth Niketan Ashram. At the Ashram, the Ambani family distributed sweets and life jackets to pilgrims.

Traditional Attire and Significance

The Ambani family members were dressed in traditional ethnic clothes for the occasion. Mukesh and Anant Ambani wore matching blue kurta pyjamas, while Akash Ambani wore a multicoloured kurta. Shloka Mehta was seen in a white Anarkali suit, and the grandchildren, Prithvi and Veda, wore coordinating teal outfits.


The family took the holy dip at the Sangam as devotees gathered ahead of Magh Purnima, which marks the conclusion of Kalpvas, a period of self-discipline, introspection, and spiritual purification.


Reliance's 'Teerth Yatri Seva' Initiative

Reliance Industries is part of the Maha Kumbh Mela through its 'Teerth Yatri Seva' program. The program aims to keep pilgrims safe and well. It offers many services, such as:


  • Nourishing meals (Anna Seva)

  • Comprehensive healthcare

  • Safe transportation

  • Enhanced connectivity

  • Comfortable rest zones

  • Clear navigation

  • Safety measures on the sacred waters

Earlier Visits and Event Preparations

Before the Ambani family visited, Mukesh Ambani's brother, Anil, and his wife, Tina, went to the Kumbh Mela too.


The MahaKumbh Mela has drawn a huge number of devotees. Uttar Pradesh officials reported that the target of 450 million visitors was met before the event ended. Local authorities made special arrangements, including changing traffic plans, to handle the large crowds for Magh Purnima.
